We all know that pitching an investor is not like Shark Tank.
That is why I wanted to experiment with a new format to show you how an investor evaluates a startup in real life.
Today I have as a guest Cristóbal Perdomo, partner and cofounder of Wollef, an early-stage startup investment fund that has invested in companies like Nubank, Kavak, and Konfio. He is also host of the podcast Indie versus Unicornio.
Today Cristóbal will help me evaluate the pitches of three entrepreneurs: Rodrigo Córdova of Tiui, Sebastián Baquero of Ruedata, and Laura del Castillo of Kunzapp.
The dynamic is as follows:
- First, each entrepreneur will present their startup, their results, and their plans
- Then, we will do a round of questions to see how Cristóbal evaluates each business
- Finally, Cristobal and I comment in depth on his impressions about the potential of each startup
This episode includes visual support, so I recommend watching it on YouTube to get the most out of it.
Also, I want to truly thank Cristóbal, Rodrigo, Sebastián, and Laura for being willing to take part. The venture capital industry is a black box, and rarely do we have the chance to see how investors and entrepreneurs interact at the moment of raising capital.
Please tell me what you thought of this format, to see if we do other editions. You can find me on Linkedin and on Twitter as @enzocavalie.
Now, I leave you with this great episode!
